Re-Collection Log #6

Welcome back to the Re-Collection Log everyone! The blog series where I document my journey of building up my Pyrates Collection from scratch! In the last part, we added all of the Skulls to our collection! And now, we'll be finishing another section of this collection!

One of the sets that I always wanted to add to my collection the most was Admiral Scathe's Predator. Imo its one of the most beautiful ships Mega Bloks ever created (Pyrates and Dragons included). The striking red, silver and black color scheme, the unique sail structure.... It has just such a striking aura to it.

I had this set as a kid, but as I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I didn't take much care of it.

Me and my brother received this set for Christmas one year. And unfortunately, that's about the only memory I really have of it. I'm sure we played with it, but my memories of those times are lost. The only other memory I have of this poor ship is that I'm preeeeeetty sure I left it outside.... Where it got run over by a lawnmower or something.

I feel pretty guilty about being so neglectful to such a great set. So I was more than eager to add it to my collection. And, finally, from the good old land of Canada.....

I got one! Its almost fully complete. All that's missing is the lion's chains that connect the figurehead to the hull. But other than that its all here.

I absolutely love the sails on this ship. It gives it such a striking silhouette. I feel like you don't see many pirate ship toys in general that have such a unique look to them. I don't think it beats Stormstalker in terms of my favorite ship, but its definitely my second favorite.

I'm not a huge fan of the giant gun at the front though. I wish there was something a little more unique there. But its not too bad imo. I headcanon it as being a special type of cannon. Like a superweapon.

But that's not all I have to show off today! I also managed to lock down one of the HOLY grails of Pyrates collecting....

There I was just minding my own business. I was actually in the bathroom at work when I decided to randomly check eBay for new listings.... And that was when I saw it.

I nearly lost. My. Mind.

Especially because, just a few days earlier, I'd lost out on a lot that featured Captain Quell in it. Good things come to those who wait, I suppose!

Now.... I'm sure you've all noticed something a little..... Off here. Lmao.

Yeah, unfortunately this listing didn't include Captain Brine. For some reason there was a random Jack Sparrow shoved into his spot instead. I have no idea why. It was a pretty big bummer, but I wasn't about to pass up on getting the other eight because of it.

It was also unfortunately missing Vincent Vanjammer's tomahawk.... Another big bummer.

But regardless, I was more than happy to order the set. This one ALSO came from Canada. They got some good shit up there.

Welcome to the collection, fellows! Captain Quell and Charlie Carruthers are probably my favorites from the set. Captain Brine and Vincent Vanjammer are also standouts though.

That's all I have in store for you today. But I already have more sets to show you guys next time! So stay tuned! Catch Ya!
