There are 27 Mega Bloks Pyrates sets. There are also 9 re-releases, 6 bundles, and 1 spin off set.

The primary Mega Bloks Pyrates sets were released from 2005 to 2009. They encompassed three main waves, four waves if you count 2.0 as its own wave (I don't.) There are seven main set types that can be found. Playsets, ships, skulls, pouches, spyglasses, crew packs, and bundles.

There's also an outlier here or there, that doesn't quite fit in any category that well. But I've done my best to categorize it anyways.

There are three series of Pyrates' sets:

1. The Original Line - This was the first ever line of Pyrates. It ran from 2005 to somewhere in 2009(?). The original line consisted of three waves of sets and was by far the biggest and most popular of the three.

2. The 2.0 Line - This was a reboot of the series released from 2010 to 2011. The 2.0 line featured remakes of sets from the Original Line. There was only one wave of sets for this series.

3. Pirate Quest - By far the rarest and most obscure of Pyrates series. Not much is known about Pirate Quest other than it had only one set released for it, and was released in only a select few countries. Likely those in Europe.

There are also four unreleased sets that never saw the light of day. One ship and three skulls were advertised, but never released to the public. There are also images of an unreleased, prototype version of the singular Pirate Quest ship.
